KATIE COURIC AND ZIBBY OWENS: THE BOOKS YOU’LL LOVE
If you thought you knew Katie Couric, think again.
For more than 40 years, she’s been an iconic presence in the media, the woman who helped start our days. But TV flattens images, so viewers waking up to Couric’s cheery TV persona couldn’t see the insecurity, the eating disorder, typecasting, sexism, grief and stress she would triumph over to achieve her dream.
In her new memoir, Going There, Couric writes candidly about how she found the focus and time to fend off unrepentant misogyny, adjust to insane schedules, raise children and cope with the deaths of those closest to her.
Finding time is at the center of the life and career of the night’s other guest, Zibby Owens, who helps women figure out how to make it in her new book, Moms Don’t Have Time to Have Kids; a collection of 53 essays by 49 bestselling, notable and award-winning authors on navigating sleep, weight loss, seeing friends, staying healthy and writing. Zibby is the host of the award-winning podcast Moms Don’t Have Time to Read Books, and is the author of Moms Don’t Have Time To: A Quarantine Anthology, as well as the upcoming children’s book, Princess Charming, and memoir, The Book Messenger.
After their discussion, 11 of those writers will join us for literary speed dating, to hook you up with books you will love.
